About Project Settings
Upon the conclusion of a project, it can be optionally deleted from the system. For some, removing all project data after it's been concluded is a requirement by certain vendors; but it is important to note that this is an irreversible action.
Below is an overview of each project setup option. Although there is no system-enforced order by which to configure these settings, the order displayed below is recommended.
- Create Project Custom Fields: Project custom fields provide a means to capture data specified by account administrators. Custom field options vary greatly and are typically created based on your reporting needs.
- Configure Project Settings: These settings allow you to set a default Project Administrator role. Setting this up restricts the options that display to just the users in the specified role. Additionally, you can select a project number custom field that will display on all pages where the project name appears. Lastly, from here you can define up to three options by which users can search for the project from the static Project drop-down menu that appears on every page within Trimble Unity Construct Enterprise.
- Verify Project Status Options: By default, the project statues listed below are available to you, however, you're able to add your own or delete any of these existing ones, if they are not already in use.
- Active
- Administrative
- Complete
- Inactive
- (If applicable) Add Project Web Links: Web links are URLs to project-related websites that can be added to the project's details for users to access. Please note that this link will display in the details of all account projects. In some cases, these links are to an internal portal of some sort that has pertinent information to assist project participants.
- Create New Projects: It is recommended that projects are created after setup options have been completed, as most of these settings will be applicable when creating new projects. New projects are created as the need arise. Multiple projects can be imported in bulk or added one at a time. In this step, you will complete project details and apply project templates.

Most common options include Project Name and Project Number. These options will be the values of select project custom fields.
