Apply Project Templates Page

After a project is created, administrators can apply a project template to get the new project set up more quickly. Templates are a compilation of structures from other areas of Trimble Unity Construct Enterprise that can be applied to your current project. Certain projects may share similar characteristics which makes a particular template appropriate for multiple projects. For example, public school projects might have the same project managers, administrators, facilities managers, and finance directors, which would allow you to reuse the same template(s) for all projects of this nature. Available templates are as follows:

  • Project Templates (Document folder structure)
  • Role Templates
  • Schedule Templates
  • Budget Templates
  • Cash Flow Templates
  • Funding Templates

Fields and Buttons

The fields and buttons located on this page are:

  • Apply Templates : Click to apply selected templates.
  • Cancel: Click to discard changes.
  • Select a project template: Projects selected from this menu will be used as a template for your selected project. After choosing a project, you'll have the option to copy all or some of the following sets of information:
    • List of users
    • Project groups
    • The Documents folder structure including documents, permission settings, folder subscriptions and custom fields
    • Calendar setting exceptions
  • Select a role template: Click the drop-down arrow to select a role template. The content of each template may differ, but Role templates typically include a list of roles and users that belong to each role.
  • Select a schedule template: Click the drop-down arrow to select a schedule template. The content of each template may differ, but schedule templates can include the following:
    • List of tasks
    • Duration of each task
    • Task predecessors
    • Task resource role
    • Manager role
    • Whether or not approval is required for changes to task dates
    • Whether or not approval is required before a task can be marked complete
    • List of master tasks and master processes.
  • Select a budget template: Click the drop-down arrow to select a budget template. For more information, see Working with Budget Templates.
    The content of each template may differ, but budget templates can include the following:
    • Budget line items
    • Account codes
    • Formulas
    • Whether or not charges are allowed
    • Whether or not approval is required for budget changes
  • Select a cash flow template: Click the drop-down arrow to select a cash flow template. The content of each template may differ, but cash flow templates are based on selected budget template line items, they may also be linked to schedule templates.   • Select a funding template: This option will only be available if advanced funding is enabled on the account. Click the drop-down arrow to select a funding template. These templates include a list of funding sources. For more information, see Working with Funding Templates.
