Integrate Time Tracking with Cost

Once cost integration is saved on the account it cannot be disabled.

By integrating time tracking with cost, the activities that your employees or consultants perform on the job may be set as billable and associated with budget line items through account codes so that they may be invoiced per your business rules. For instance, if you have activities that you want to count in project costs such as the cost of reviewing design drawings you can make this a billable task and associate it with the appropriate budget line item and then generate an invoice against this commitment, providing the workflow includes the necessary automation step to do so.

To integrate Time Tracking with Cost

  1. Go to Time Tracking settings.
  2. For instructions, see Access Time Tracking Settings.

  3. Click Time Tracking Settings.
  4. The Time Tracking Settings page is displayed.

  5. Select the Integrate Time Tracking with Cost check box.
  6. Once Cost integration is saved, it cannot be disabled.

    The following options appear:

    • Do Not Restrict Commitments - Select to allow the person submitting the time sheet to see the companies and contacts associated to the commitment they are tacking their time to.
    • Restrict Commitments to Companies - Select to allow the person submitting the time sheet to see only those commitments associated with the company the user is associated with.
    • Restrict Commitments to Contacts - Select to allow the person submitting the time sheet to see only those commitments associated with the contacts the user is associated with.
  7. Click Save.
