Add Data Field Assignments

Data field assignments are a mechanism for auto-populating Admin-defined data taken from project details and exposing them into the process. To learn more about data field assignments, see Add Assignment Page Overview.

To add a data field assignment

  1. Go to the step properties of the step you want to add data fields to.
  2. For more information, see Access Step Properties.

  3. Click Add Action.
  4. The Add Action dialog box displays.

  5. At the bottom of the Add Action dialog box, click Assignments.
  6. The Add Assignment dialog box displays.

  7. Click the Assign to Field drop-down arrow and select the process data field to assign the expression to.
  8. Click the Select Field drop-down arrow to select the project details data field, you want to pull data from.
  9. Click Insert to add this relationship to the Assignment Expression box.
  10. If this concludes your data field assignment, continue to step 7.

  11. If you are creating a data field assignment that is part of a formula, click an operator, and then repeat steps 2 and 3.
  12. Optional: You can also use a function as the entire assignment expression or part of the expression using any of the steps above.
  13. Click Save.
