Page Layouts Tab
Use the Page Layouts tab to organize data fields into custom displays. Page layouts let you create views for different user types, helping you determine which users can see particular information. Each of these layouts can be assigned to the workflow as a whole or to a specific step.
Assigning different layouts is beneficial because each step in a process has a set of activities that need to occur for the step to be complete such as reviewing and filling out certain data fields. To ensure clarity, only the fields needed to complete that step should be visible.
There are two types of layouts:
- Actor Layout: This layout displays fields for the user taking action on the step.
- Non Actor Layout: This layout displays information visible to all users with workflow permissions. Hide sensitive information such as proprietary data by excluding it from this layout.
The Page Layouts page provides a list of all configured layouts. It also indicates if a layout is in use (assigned to one or more steps), its type (actor or non-actor layout), and determine when it was last modified.
