Page Layouts Tab

Use the Page Layouts tab to organize data fields into custom displays. Page layouts let you create views for different user types. This helps you determine which users can see particular information. Each of these layouts can be assigned to the workflow as a whole or to a specific step. Why would you want to assign different layouts? For a step in a process there is typically a set of activities that need to occur for that step to complete, such as reviewing certain data fields that have already been filled out by another user and filling others out. To make it very clear, you should show only those fields that are needed to complete that step. There are two types of layouts:

  • Actor Layout: This layout will display the fields that the person taking action on the step should see.

  • Non Actor Layout: This layout displays what every user with the permission to be a part of the workflow can see. Censor proprietary data by excluding it from this layout.

The page layouts page lists all page layouts configured. From here you are also able to tell if they are in use (assigned to one or more steps), tell if the layout is an actor or non-actor layout, and determine when the layout was last modified.
