Edit Budget Details
On the Edit Budget Details page, you can alter basic details of the budget. If the account is configured to allow changes of the budget control, you are able to change that here as well.
To edit budget details
- Open the Budget Details Page.
- Click Edit.
- Make all required changes.
- Click Save.
The Edit Budget Details page is displayed.
Below are detailed descriptions of the fields and buttons located on this page.
- Currency: If multi-currency has been enabled for your account, it displays the currency selected for this project.
- Save: Click to save modifications after changes have been made.
- Cancel: Returns to the Budget Details page. All unsaved changes will be lost.
- Project Name: Name of the project.
- Status: The status of the project.
- Draft Created: The date the initial draft of this budget was created and the name of the person that created it.
- Budget Control: Displays the budget control setting for the project budget. This field is editable only if the 'Allow this setting to be changed on individual budgets' check box is selected in the Cost Control Settings.
- Approved: The date the budget was approved and the name of the person that approved it.
- Description: Description of the budget in this field.

Attachment Icon ( ): Add or remove files from the budget line item. The number on this icon displays the amount of the documents that are currently attached.

Line item: Displays the budget line item number according to the budget cost code structure established by the account administrator. For more information on cost code structures, see Manage Account Codes.

Description: The description of the budget line item as entered by the user.

Assumption: Displays the assumption. Entering an assumption allows you to record the rationale behind how you came to a particular dollar amount. For instance, you may have come to a dollar amount based on the number of MRI machines needed for the hospital. After the budget has been approved, this detail cannot be edited from this page, but from the Add/Edit Line Item page. See Add Budget Line Items for more information.

Allow Charges: Select to allow charges to be made against the budget line item.

Funding Rule: If funding is enabled on the budget level, this field displays the funding rule associated with the line item.
TipTo make the change to all line items at once, click the drop-down arrow from the column header.
For individual line items, you can also click this drop-down arrow to select a different funding rule. To customize the rule, click the Edit link, which allows you to choose the percentage or amount of funds to be withdrawn from each funding source.
If a funding rule isn't currently selected, click the drop-down arrow to make a selection, or click the Add link to create a custom rule.
- Approval Required for Change: Indicate if approval is required to change this line item.
- Current Budget
For approved budgets: This is the approved original budget and all approved budget changes.
For unapproved budgets: This is the amount of the original budget.
Click to view or modify. This tab is displayed only if budget custom fields exist for the account. For more information, see Cost Custom Fields.
