Create a Forecast

The Forecast cost entity does not appear in the Cost module by default; this feature must be enabled by e-Builder Support.

Forecasts are initially added to e-Builder only one time. If a forecast has already been created, but you'd like to forecast new assumptions, you must create a new current or working forecast; for more information, see Edit Forecasts.

To create a forecast

  1. Go to the Forecasting page.
  2. For more information, see Access the Forecasting Page.

  3. Click Add Forecast.
  4. The Add Forecast page is displayed.

  5. Click the Forecast as of period ending drop-down arrow to select the data for which to base the forecast on.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. The Add/ Edit Forecast page is displayed.

  8. Enter all required fields.

  10. From here you can optionally take any of the following actions:
  11. Click Save Draft to keep a draft to continue working on at a later date
  12. —Or—

    Click Save Final to save this version as the final forecast. You are required to either save the final version as a snapshot of the current forecast or just as the current forecast.

    In order to report on the forecast, you must save final.

  13. To save as both a snapshot and current forecast, click Yes, Save Snapshot & Forecast.
  14. —Or—

    To save as forecast only, click No, Save Forecast Only.
