Budget Template Details Page
The Budget Template Details page appears after a new budget template has been created. In edit mode, this page is titled, the Edit Budget Template page. You can also access this page by clicking the name of the template. From this page you can edit budget template details, import or add line items, add formulas and do a general update of the template.
Fields and Buttons
The fields and buttons on this page are:

- Edit Details: Click this button to edit the details of the template, such as the name, status, description and any existing budget template line items.
- Cancel: Click this button to exit this page. All unsaved data will be lost.
- Name: This field lists the name of the budget template. Click Edit Details to make modifications.
- Status: This field lists the current status of the budget template. Click Edit Details to make modifications. Available statuses are Draft and Active. In active mode users who can create budgets have the ability to apply this template to a project. If the Status is Draft, the template will not be available to apply to a project.
- Created: This field displays the date and name of the user that created the template.
- Last Modified: This field displays the date and name of the user that last modified the template.
- Description: This field displays the description of the template. Click Edit Details to modify.

- Add: Click this button to add a line item to the template after its details have been entered, at a minimum, in the Account Code and Description fields.
- Clear: Click this button to clear data fields in this section.
- Account Code: Enter the account code of the budget line item in this field. If account codes have already been configured on the account, a drop-down list of available account codes is displayed for you to choose from. For more information on creating account codes, see Manage Account Codes.
If your account codes are more than one level, you will have a selection for each level when you add a budget line item.
- Cost Code: Enter the cost code of the budget line item in this field. If cost codes have already been configured on the account, a drop-down list of available cost codes is displayed for you to choose from. For more information on creating cost codes, see Manage Account Codes.
- Description: Enter a description for the budget line item in this field.
- Formula: Click New to open the Template Line Item Formula page and add a line item formula. Line item formulas is a great way to automatically populate cost data based on formulas added here.
For example, if you wanted to calculate your construction cost to be the estimated square footage multiplied by the cost per square foot, you could add two project custom fields in the equation to automatically calculate that number. Or, you might want to calculate the design fees to be a percentage of the total construction cost; in this case you could build a formula in which you pull in the construction line item and multiple that by a percentage.
For steps on creating a budget template line item formula, see Add/Edit Template Line Item Formulas. - Allow Charges: This check box is selected by default. When selected, users are able to add a dollar amount to commitment changes, commitments and general invoices. Otherwise, funds are not able to be applied.

If custom fields exist on the account for budget line items, you would complete the field here. For more information on creating template line item custom fields, see Cost Custom Fields.

This section lists all existing line items. Controls are available that allow you to add or import line items, sort and edit line items.
- Group By: Click this drop-down arrow to choose whether to group this list by line item, category or cost codes. These viewing options are most beneficial when there is a long list of line items available.
- Delete: Click this button to delete line items after corresponding check boxes have been selected. You can select multiple line items at a time.
- Import: Click this button to import an .xls file of budget line items.
- Edit: Click this link to edit the details of a selected line item.
