About Invoice Item Custom Fields

Custom fields in e-Builder are definable fields that drive the reporting needs of an organization. Custom fields allow users to group, filter, or categorize information according to specific business processes and custom fields are also be available for invoice line items. This feature allows you to define account-specific values at the individual line item level. These custom fields are supported in mail merge, reporting, and imports.

In the user interface, invoice item custom fields are added by clicking the add invoice custom field icon (custom_fields_Add), located on the far right of the invoice items table on the Add/Edit Commitment Invoice page and the Add/Edit General Invoice page. If you make these fields required for your users, they will not be able to save invoices until these fields are added.

Invoice item custom field layouts are available and allow you to display these custom fields on the Invoice Details page. For more information, see Configure Invoice Item Custom Field Layouts.
