Submit to GC

This page allows subcontractors with Create Submittal permissions to kick off the review process by sending submittal documentation to the general contractors directly. This saves the GC the effort of creating all submittal items and requesting documentation through the Send to Sub action.

Submit to GC - Fields and Buttons

The fields and buttons located on this page are:

  • General Contractor: This is a required field. The dropdown list of individuals who can receive the submittal is determined by the general contractor role identified in the Project Submittal Settings under Subcontractor Options.
  • GC Review Complete Due Date: This is a required field. The date is pre-filled based on the offset timeframe identified in the Project Submittal Settings under Subcontractor Options, but can be modified if needed. Click the calendar icon to select a response date.
  • CC Roles: Select the e-Builder roles you would like to copy. Click the blue arrow pointed to the right to add their names to the adjacent box. Repeat this step for all users you want to copy.
  • CC Users: Select the e-Builder users you would like to copy. You can select user roles or individual users. Click the blue arrow pointed to the right to add their names to the adjacent box. Repeat this step for all users you want to copy.
  • CC External Users Via Email: To copy an external user:
    • Enter the email address in the CC External Users Via Email field.

      To search for the user in the e-Builder contacts list, click Lookup. The contacts filter displays.
    • Input all or portions of the requested information, then click Filter.
    • Put a check mark next to the contact's name and click Insert Selected.
    • If the external user is an e-Builder contact, use your keyboard to auto-fill the desired email address. Begin typing the recipient's name or email address then use the arrows to highlight the email of choice, and then click Tab to make the selection.
  • Message: Enter a message to accompany the submittal item(s).
  • Private: If this option is available to you, select or clear the Private check box to make your comment either private or public.

    The Private Comments feature can be enabled by account administrators. This feature allows only users in select roles to view and add private comments. For more information, see Manage Private Comments.

  • Selected submittal items: This section lists the items that are being sent to the subcontractor.
