Create Workflows (Time Tracking)
Workflows are used in the Processes module and also as an independent entity required for Time Tracking. This topic is about creating workflows for Time Tracking. To learn more about Process workflows, see Workflow Tab.
Workflows can be created by users with Manage Workflow (Time Tracking) permission. They are required to use the Time Tracking module as they determine the route that time sheets will take for review and approval. Workflows should be created for specific roles or users, but you can also have an account default that will route all workflows in the same manner regardless of who is submitting the time sheet. Creating a workflow is a multi-step process. If you are familiar with process workflows, you will able to create a time sheet workflow as they are configured and operate the same way. Below are the different steps for creating a time sheet workflow. Each step must be completed in the ordered presented:
- Add Workflow Properties
- Design Workflows
- Edit Steps
- Add Automation Step (Required to generate invoices in Cost-integrated processes)
- Add Actions
- Connect Steps in the Workflow
- Publish Workflows
