Complete Submittal Settings
About Project Submittal Settings
For the purpose of the Submittal module, the General Contractor (GC) function is determined by the Add/ Edit Submittal permission. This permission must be assigned in the Setup module to a specific GC user role by an account administrator.
Once the add / edit permission has been assigned, users within that role have access to the project-level Submittal Settings page. The intention of giving the GC settings access is to allow the GC to manage much of the submittal process on individual projects independently from the owner's organization. Because the Submittal Settings can alter the workflow of the submittal reviews, the role(s) that are granted the add / edit permission should be carefully planned by the project team.
Account administrators can also access the project Submittal Settings.
Complete the Project Submittal Settings
Verifying the project submittal settings is a necessary first step for general contractors when using the Submittal module. The Submittal Settings is the first page to display when accessing this module for the first time on a project, which gives you the opportunity to set the framework for how the submittal process will work for this particular project.
Many of the Submittal Settings are established as defaults at the account level by the administrator, but can be modified for each project's specific requirements. Project Submittal Settings can be edited at any time during the project.
Assigning a submittal coordinator for the project is required and very important. For details, see Assign Submittal Coordinator.
