Assign Submittal Coordinator

The submittal coordinator role is the central traffic cop for the submittal review process and is often filled by the architect/ engineer on the project. If the project owner is directly involved in managing the submittals, this role may be assigned to the facilities project manager within the owner's organization. In any case, this assignment can vary depending on each project's team structure and contractual needs.

Projects can have multiple submittal coordinators, but each submittal item is assigned to a single submittal coordinator individual. Submittal coordinators are able to manage each other's submittal items in the event of an absence.

The General Contractor is responsible for assigning a submittal coordinator. This step is typically done as part of setting up the Submittals module for each project, along with completing other submittal settings.

Submittal coordinators must be licensed Trimble Unity Construct users with View Submittal permissions. The submittal coordinator does not typically have other submittal permissions unless they will also be performing functions normally handled by the subcontractors or general contractors.
