In e-Builder, the process for releasing retainage will differ based on the type of commitment the invoice is processed against. For payment application-type commitments, a Retainage Release Amount field is available on the Add/Edit Commitment Invoice Page that allows you to pay retainage while also processing the invoice. On the contrary, invoices being processed for commitments that are not payment application-type commitments require you to do a separate commitment invoice to release retainage.
- Action cannot be taken on a commitment invoice (request approval, approve) if the retainage amount exceeds the retainage percent amount set for the commitment item/commitment.
- Commitment item percentages take precedence over default commitment percentages.
