Adding redline markups allow you to annotate the file. Redlining does not modify the actual file; it creates an overlay on top of it that exists only in e-Builder. After you save your redline and return to the Documents module, there's a counter under the file name that shows how many redline layers have been created for the document.

Guidelines for Redlining Documents
The Redline tool is intended for markups of small to medium sized PDF files. A general rule of thumb is to use files under 500 pages and under 250 MB. If your file does not open quickly and is near this size, we suggest splitting the PDF into two separate files and working from there.
