Create / Assign Unique Project Custom Field
A unique string-type project custom field is required in order to make an association between the project and Master Commitment Line Items and/or the Account Level Funding. This must be a unique custom field.
Instructions for creating and assigning this custom field are below.
To create a unique, string-type project custom field
- From the top navigation tabs, click the Setup tab or from the Utility menu by clicking the drop-down arrow next to your user name.
- In the Administration Tools section, click Global Custom Fields.
- Click Add Field.
- Select Project then Next.
- Select String then Next.
- Complete all necessary fields including:
- Enter a name for this custom field, such as Project ID
- To make this field unique, select the Do not allow duplicates check box.
- Click Next.
- Click Save.
If the Setup tab is not visible, click , and then select the Setup check box.
To assign the custom field to account cost settings
- From the top navigation tabs, click the Setup tab or from the Utility menu by clicking the drop-down arrow next to your user name.
- In the Administration Tools section, click Cost.
- Click Cost Settings.
- Click the Account Cost Settings tab
- In the Miscellaneous Settings section, click the Account Level Cost Association To Projects drop-down menu and select the unique project custom field.
If the Setup tab is not visible, click , and then select the Setup check box.
