Set up Cash Flow

Setting up cash flow is the first step to utilizing this project feature. In setting up the cash flow you will establish cash flow curves for each of your budget line items. You might return to this page if you choose to make changes to your cash flow curves.

To set up the cash flow

  1. Go to the Project Cash Flow page.
  2. For more information see Access the Project Cash Flow Page.

  3. Click Setup Cash Flow.
  4. The Setup Cash Flow page displays.

  5. Click the Cash Flow Curve drop-down arrow to select a curve for each respective budget line item.

  7. Click the Schedule Link Type drop-down arrow to select a component you'd like to link the cash flow curve to for each respective budget line item. Select from the following: Link To Tasks, Link To Project, Link To Schedule.

  9. If you choose Link to Tasks for any of the line items, click the Task [#] drop-down arrow to select a task to link the cash flow curve to.
  10. In the Payment Lag (In Days) field, enter the number days to extend the cash flow past its completion for an accurate view of cost data after payments have been processed.
  11. Payment lag works only for cash flows based on paid invoices.

  12. Click Save.
