Secure Document Sharing Use Plan Room to share plans, drawings, specifications and other job-related documents, such as bid sets and ASIs. The Plan Room must be enabled on a project-by-project basis to be a public or password-protected site with its own web address that can be distributed to project participants. It can also be configured to be used in the bidder portal to distribute bid documents.

Organize Documents Specific to each Project Plan Room allows you to organize project documents with different attributes or tags. Tags might be building name, floor number, section, zone, or even trade. Once the document type is chosen (e.g. plans), the user will get a menu that lets him or her find plans by tag. The Plan Room viewer lets the user jump to other similar documents by varying one tag, speeding up the time it takes to find related files. For example, if you are looking at the first floor zone 1 architectural drawing, the user can easily look at the equivalent drawing for the second floor, or zone 2, or they can pull up the structural drawing for floor 1 zone 1. The Plan Room viewer is also used in the main e-Builder documents area when viewing files that are part of the Plan Room.

Create Meaningful Relationships Between Documents – Plan Room gives the project document controller all the controls necessary to manage the relationships between files. Document types and attributes leverage the existing e-Builder document management capabilities (e.g. custom fields to set things like trade, floor, zone, etc). Plan Room even keeps the document history, but always shows users the most recent document first.
