Fax Service Retirement

The Fax Service has been retired and removed from availability in e-Builder Enterprise. This retirement affects all accounts by May 20, 2022.

The Fax Service entered the following Product Lifecycle Phases:

Impact

• Bidding: In order to send bid invitations or messages to bidders listed on a bid package, the bidder contact must have an email address. Bid information will no longer be distributed via fax.
• Bid Portal: For bid packages using “Submit Quote” mode, bidders will no longer be able to download a fax cover sheet or submit fax responses directly to the bid package.
• Documents: Document folders do not have “Fax In” capability or fax cover sheets. The Send Files action no longer includes fax as a send method.
• Forms: Requests for external comments on forms can no longer be sent by fax.

Actions Needed

While the fax service is already disabled, some fax features in e-Builder may still be visible to users after the May 20 effective date. Until the user interface is completely cleaned, users may attempt to use the fax service but the faxes will not be sent.
